How this relationship chart works

What is a Human Design compatibility chart?

It overlays two individual BodyGraphs and compares their activated gates and channels. This page shows electromagnetic, companionship, dominance and compromise connections. It does not calculate a relationship score or a shared Authority.

What is free, and what is paid?

Both individual BodyGraphs, their Type, Strategy, Authority, Profile, Definition, all planetary gates and lines, the relationship chart and four short reading chapters are free in this research version. A fuller paid reading is being studied; no purchase or subscription is available here.

Can I use an unknown or approximate birth time?

This calculator requires a recorded time and the historical time zone. It does not replace an unknown time with noon. The one-minute check only tests sensitivity around the entered minute; it cannot recover a missing birth time.

How are Personality and Design calculated?

Personality uses planetary positions at birth. Design uses the earlier moment when the Sun was 88 degrees back in tropical longitude, rather than a fixed 88-day subtraction. Both sets of 13 activations are mapped to gates and lines, then to channels and centers.

How does birthplace affect the chart?

The selected city supplies its IANA time zone for the birth date. Historical daylight saving is included; missing or repeated clock times need review. Human Design here uses geocentric positions and no true solar time or longitude correction. For an unlisted place, enter its verified IANA time zone.

How is this different from BaZi and Zi Wei compatibility?

BaZi and Zi Wei use Chinese calendar and chart rules. Human Design maps planetary positions into a different system of gates, channels and centers. A second perspective does not verify the first one, and neither chart can establish the quality or future of a relationship.

How reliable are the calculations and readings?

This research build uses free-human-design 1.0.1 with its astronomia backend and IANA time-zone data. Reference fixtures reproduce the checked Type, Authority and Profile, but some planetary gate and line assignments differ from the upstream comparison charts, including differences in historical daylight-saving assumptions. Boundaries need extra care. The reading is an authored reflection selected from chart facts, not a scientifically validated personality or relationship assessment.

Are birth details saved?

The comparison endpoint uses birth details for calculation without saving a profile or reading. Inputs remain in the page while it is open. The optional price-research response contains selected answers and an anonymous deduplication token, with no birth details.
