Five Elements crystals: choose the color before the stone name
Start with the balancing element, then choose a wearable color and material. Treat the stone name as a second layer because traditions can assign the same crystal to different elements.

This is the public mapping used by the quiz. The primary direction follows the same element; the supporting direction uses the element that generates it.

Why color leads the match
Moonstone, obsidian, amethyst, and pearl each have more than one folk classification. A rule based only on a stone name cannot account for color variation or the metal around it. The quiz therefore starts with visible color, then considers metal, wood, or another jewelry material.
