How the Five Elements Crystal Quiz calculates a result
The free result is deterministic, not a live guess from generative AI. The same input on the same mapping version produces the same element, color, and material direction.
Four calculation steps
- Build the active pillars. The civil birth date supplies the year, month, and day pillars. The hour pillar is included only when a two-hour period is entered.
- Score day-master strength. The month season has the largest weight. Stems and branches then add or subtract support. A score of 145 or more is strong, 55 or less is weak, and the middle range is balanced.
- Choose the leading element. A weak day master uses the generating element, a strong one uses the element it controls, and a balanced one uses the element it generates.
- Map to jewelry. The leading element supplies the primary colors and materials. The upstream generating element supplies a secondary direction. Visible color wins when stone classifications disagree.
Inputs and limits
- Required
- Civil birth year, month, and day.
- Optional
- A Chinese two-hour period. Without it, the hour pillar is excluded and the result is marked date-only.
- Not used
- Gender. It only changes a luck-cycle direction that this product does not use.
- Time zone
- Version 1 uses the entered civil date. It does not convert birthplace time zones or change the date at late Rat hour.
- Boundary day
- A solar-term boundary triggers a visible note and a wider margin in the detailed explanation.
Claims and responsibility
Chinese Five Elements is a traditional cultural framework, not medical, psychological, or financial diagnosis. Crystal folklore is separated from mineral facts and is never presented as a health effect or guaranteed outcome.

The current mapping version is 2026-08-12.v1. This public page was last updated on August 13, 2026. Each stored result keeps the version that produced it so an older result remains traceable after a future update.
