The Emblem of Recognition · Luo Tong seeks a teacher
This verse is full of signs of status. Its useful question is what responsibility comes with the recognition you seek.
The Hong Kong source grades lot 13 Upper; the Taiwan source grades it Middle. The grade beside your own printed verse should be read with that version.
Each line has wording differences. In line three, Hong Kong has 蒙君賜紫 and Taiwan has 要君賜受 before the shared 金魚袋. The texts also disagree on the grade.
The traditional title names Luo Tong seeking a teacher. The verse itself focuses on rank and public recognition. Purple robes and the fish pouch belong to the language of official distinction; they are the visible objects through which the poem describes honour.
Read those objects as the imagery of the text. A modern job title or an acceptance letter may bring the image to mind, but the poem cannot establish that either is on its way.
For a career question, distinguish the recognition you want from the work that would justify it. A title can matter because it changes responsibility, access or pay. Be specific about which of those you need before treating prestige itself as the goal.
The first two lines begin from an already comfortable position. If that fits your circumstances, the verse can prompt a review of the advantages you already have and how you use them. If it does not fit, there is no need to invent a wealthy upbringing to make the poem describe you.
Check the grade on your slip. Hong Kong calls this an Upper Lot and Taiwan calls it Middle. The disagreement is visible even though the four lines are closely related.
