A zodiac match starts with the birth year. A Zi Wei compatibility reading starts with two complete charts. It looks at each person's Zi Wei palaces, BaZi Four Pillars, and the places where the two charts support or press against each other.

The goal is not to predict the relationship. The goal is to name the pattern: where attraction comes from, what creates friction, how communication tends to work, and which differences need steady attention.

Why not paste both charts into ChatGPT?

Given only two birthdays, a chatbot has to cast four charts from memory, a Zi Wei chart and a BaZi chart for each person. In September 2026 we tested single charts with web search off. Asked in English, ChatGPT got all four BaZi pillars right for 6 of 12 Hong Kong birth times, chosen to avoid the Zi hour and solar-term boundaries. In a Cantonese test of 10 people, ChatGPT placed the Zi Wei Life Palace and its major stars correctly 8 times, and Claude never did. A compatibility reading needs both people's charts right.

Paste our two free charts instead and the casting errors go away. The chatbot can then write a fair reading. The full report adds one step before any writing starts. The engine checks whether your Spouse Palace stars meet the other person's Life Palace, checks the other direction too, and grades the pair as a mutual match, a one-way match, a trine contact or no match. It traces where each person's four birth-year transformations land in the other chart, and it lines up both current ten-year cycles. The free overview does not include these results. A chatbot reading two pasted charts would have to know to look for them, then trace each star across both charts itself.

The model that writes the report may cite only these computed facts and may not recast either chart. The Attraction & Friction section names the match level and at least one transformation landing, saying whose star falls in which of the other person's palaces. For the same two sets of birth details, the report text is fixed once written, so you read the same report whenever you come back. It is written by AI and not reviewed by a practitioner. It describes the patterns that tend to repeat between two people, and what you do with them is your decision.
